Was nice to read while back that the 3.2 kernel now supports CPU hard limits.
The completely fair scheduler sounds promising but lack of hard limits did sound somewhat troublesome.
Presumably applications utilizing the kernel for CPU allocation/prioritization will be able to take advantage of the the new bandwidth control mechanism.
But for a distro like SLES, the latest/greatest V11 is using a 2.6* kernel so it remains to be seen how long we’ll have to wait for said applications.
